The Parasitic Diseases Index is a catalog of parasitic organisms of public health concern provided by the Centers for Disease Control. It was developed and is maintained by CDC’s Division of Parasitic Diseases and Malaria (DPDM). The Divison of Parasitic Diseases (DPDx) website was created to aid in laboratory identification of parasites and the diagnosis of parasitic diseases. The DPDx A-Z Index can be used to look up a brief summary of biological information, parasite images, suggested laboratory diagnostic procedures and techniques, and resources for more information about the parasite. This resource is helpful to students majoring in biology, microbiology, or a healthcare profession. (Link Opens in New Window)

The Vaccines and Preventable Diseases webpage is a CDC information page listing dangerous or deadly diseases that have a vaccine available to prevent human infection, including the ages at which they should be administered.
