This fossilized whale skeleton was excavated from the Nashua Formation in Sarasota County, Florida.

The estimated age is Early Pleistocene, 1-2 million years ago.

Although, unidentified, it is most likely either Eubalaena glacialis (extant), the Right whale or Eschrichtius robustus (extinct), the Atlantic gray whale. (Pacific populations of the gray whale are extant).
