Site Visibility

By Default, your site is set to “Only administrators can visit – good for testing purposes before making in live”

Once your site is ready for review by other within BC, you can switch to “Visitors must have a login….”

Once the site is ready for Go Live, select either “Allow search engines to index…” OR “Discourage search engines..” The former should be used for sites that will have a lot of external search recognition and require users to discover via a deliberate organic search strategy. The latter should be used for controlled channel delivery (marketing through email, social media, etc.)

You may also keep the “Visitors must have a login….” to make the site only available to the BC faculty and staff.

Site Writing

Our network offers the Classic Editor OR the Block (Gutenberg) Editor. By default, we are using Classic but you can upgrade if you’d like under Settings > Writing. Note this affects ALL editors of your site.
