Professor Cooke started as a contract programmer at Broward Community College (BCC) in April 1996. In July 2002, he became a full-time employee of BCC. Professor Cooke managed the Application Integration, Software Development and Web Support Service teams.

In January 2009, Professor Cooke changed careers to being a teacher and went back to school to obtain his Masters degree. He taught as an adjunct for Computer Science at Central Campus and for Continuing Education while pursuing his Masters degree.

In February 2013, Professor Cooke realized his dream of teaching full-time when he was appointed as the Computer Science faculty for the Broward College Online Campus.

In August 2016, Professor Cooke transferred to the Broward College Central Campus where he teaches web and programming related courses.
