A student panel will present a conference-style paper on the fiction of keynote author Andrew Furman with a thematic focus on digital and online ecologies and authenticity in virtual spaces such as online social environments. Event host: Dr. Christopher Gage.

Andrew Furman: Keynote Speaker

Author Andrew Furman writes fiction and creative nonfiction about the Florida outdoors. Furman provides insights about his work, Bitten: My Unexpected Love Affair with Florida, which was named a Finalist for Association for the Study of Literature and Environment’s (ASLE) Environmental Book Award. Furman’s other celebrated works include Goldens Are Here and My Los Angeles in Black and (Almost) White. Event Hosts: Professor Valorie Ebert and Dr. Christopher Gage.

Free Plastic: Cleaning Up & Making Art

Nathan Moyer, President of Free Plastic, presents on plastic waste, recycling, and what we can do to reduce our plastic usage. Moyer provides samples of each type of plastic and shows how he turns otherwise non-recyclable plastic into works of art. Free Plastic, the organization, repurposes plastic pollution farmed from beaches, parks, pathways, waterways, and green spaces. Event Host: Professor Valorie Ebert.

The Accessibility Resources Fair brings together various support services, fostering an inclusive and resourceful environment for both BC Students and the BC Community. The participation of organizations dedicated to supporting neurodiverse students and beyond will significantly enhance attendees’ awareness of on-campus wrap around services and local community resources.
