Broward College has partnered with Lyft for the new initiative Broward College Lyft Ride Program! This program is aimed at assisting students who are experiencing transportation challenges. Students can ride for free* as long as their ride either begins or ends at a Broward College campus or center.
Eligibility Criteria
- Student must be currently enrolled or have taken classes in the past two semesters
Eligible Ride Locations
Ride credits can only be used if the ride begins or ends at one of the following approved locations:
- North Campus
- Central Campus
- South Campus
- WHC/Downtown Center
Special Circumstances
- If a student would like to request a Broward College Lyft Ride to a location other than a Broward College campus or center, please encourage them to still complete the form and an S.O.S. staff member will contact the student to discuss the request and determine eligibility. Some examples of special circumstances include needing to go to a community agency to apply for social services, attending face-to-face graduation, obtaining homeless verification letter to continue enrollment at the college.
- You may be eligible for Lyft rides to clinical sites, so please fill out the application and work with S.O.S. staff.
How Students Can Redeem Free Rides
- Download the Lyft App
- Apply by going to www.broward.edu/sos and clicking on Lyft Program
- If eligible, an SOS team member will send students a code.
- Student is ready to schedule their “Broward College Ride” through the Lyft App
- *Students will be eligible for up to $80.00 per month or up to $225 per semester in rides. Depending on where the student lives, this should cover 100% of the ride and possible multiple rides.
