Beware of a New Scam

 

Attorney General Ashley Moody’s office has shared some important information on recent scams targeting Florida’s university and college students.

General Moody’s Consumer Protection Division has identified scams that target students with emails that appear to be sent from a college or university advertising fictitious work-from-home employment opportunities. The scammers obtain personal information from the student while posing as a school representative. These scammers then convince students to cash counterfeit checks and send them the money.
