Black History Month

February is Black History Month.  You can find a calendar of events at Broward College here.

Did you know that 45% of the students in our Associate of Science in Nursing program and 50% of the nurses in our RN-BSN program identify as Black?  In fact, during his Investiture Ceremony speech last year, President Haile reported that Broward College is first in the nation for awarding degrees to Black students.

The National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) was organized in 1971 and represents approximately 200,000 African American nurses from the USA, Canada, Eastern Caribbean and Africa.  The NBNA’s 48th Annual Institute and
Conference of the National Black Nurses Association will be held this summer in Hollywood, Florida, from Tuesday, July 28th to Sunday, August 2nd.  That right in our backyard!  You can find out more information at www.nbna.org.
