Though we’re working on getting nursing math tutors in all three Academic Success Centers (ASCs), currently we have nursing math tutors only on Central. Students from ANY campus can take advantage of the free nursing math tutors in the Central campus ASC.
If you haven’t been to the ASC (on any campus), now is the time to go! I’ve been to all three ASC’s and, trust me, the people there are really nice.
To access the nursing math tutors on Central campus, you’ll go to the Library, Building 17, and head to the second floor. If you’re facing the elevators, you’ll see these double doors (pictured to the left) to the left side of the elevators. The ASC is through these doors.
There’s a receptionist to the right after you walk down a short hallway. They might ask you why you’re here. If you’re going to nursing math tutoring, go straight ahead to the doors marked TUTORING – pictured below. Currently, for Spring Term, 2020, there’s a nursing math tutor there on Sundays (2-10 pm), Mondays (1-9 pm), Fridays (1-5 pm), and Saturdays (9-5). Be advised that there’s also a math lab in the ASC, so if you just tell the receptionist that you are there for math help, you might end up in the math lab. You want TUTORING.
Remember that this tutoring is FREE and it’s staffed by nursing students who have been where you are and have been successful with nursing math.
I know that sometimes it’s hard to make yourself take the initial step to actually meet with a tutor. You don’t even have to make an appointment, you just walk in. So, WALK IN!
